Two competitors from Marshall pulled on their running shoes to join the 45,000 other runners from across the UK and 109 other countries who signed up to take part in the virtual 2020 Virgin Money London Marathon, celebrating the 40th anniversary of the event.
Lewis Mcafee from Mercedes Benz of Blackpool completed the distance in 3 hours 52 minutes, raising funds for Action for Children.
Graham Moore, Head of C-130 support for Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group, took part in what was his 23rd consecutive London Marathon and finished in a time of 3 hours 22 minutes. He has competed in every London Marathon since 1998, and has completed 39 full Marathons in total. An absolutely incredible achievement!
With this year’s sponsorship, he has now raised over £37K during the last 19 years for the Bobby Moore Fund (BMF).
He is looking forward to his 24th London Marathon next October, this will be his twentieth year for BMF, when he hopes to smash through the £40k barrier.
We recently welcomed the Mayor and Mayoress of Cambridge to join us in opening the 24th annual Macmillan Coffee Morning to continue our long standing support for the charity. We held a rather different event this year given the Covid-19 restrictions and instead held a virtual event for employees to join in with from their homes.
Across our businesses we are delighted to have surpassed the initial target of £2,000 and have managed just over £3,500. A truly wonderful effort by all and humbling to have so much support from individuals during these uncertain times.
We look forward to supporting Macmillan once again in 2021 to celebrate the 25th jubilee of this wonderful event.
If you would like to make a donation, it is still possible to do so.
Thank you for your support
